I want to add one of those 'blog updater' thingies so I can tell who's posted and who hasn't, but it's starting to make MomBean's eyes cross. She started looking at Blogroll, but she can't quite figure out how to add it to my blog.
Then she looked at RSS, but not every kitty we know has a feed, so that isn't 100% either. And we don't want to miss out on anyone.
So, which do you purfur? RSS or Blogrolling? And how in the dickens do you get it to work?!?
...and no, no stork.

Dear Monty,
If my Mommy can do it, so can your MomBean. Blog updater was the only thing my Mom could figure out!
Ask her to try that one again. We love ours!
ps - keep watching for that stork, I bet he's close to your home!
Monty honey,
Mom doesn't know. She says she does too much geeky computer stuff at her day hunting gig to want to do more here at home.
Sorry I can't help you!
*smootchies*
We have not done that yet either :o
Sometimes if I want to know who posts I just go look at Daisy's list! Hahahahaha!!! How lazy is that!? Mom is very lazy about things.
Purrs Mickey
Blogrolling is RSS.
Blogrolling and BlogLines are just two of many sites that collect the feeds to make it easier to keep up. We have a BlogLines widget on ours because we couldn't get Blogrolling to send us activation codes.
Then for those blogs that don't have RSS feeds available, you can bookmark those separately and get to those sites from your bookmarks.

Well, first we had the standard Blogger linklist. Then we decided to use Blogrolling instead, but that does not always show the latest updates. A couple of months ago we started using Bloglines, and we love it! It is a very big timesaver. Almost every one of our friends has a feed you can use! There is only one that I have to go to manually to check.
No Stork...rats! We use Blogrolling, and are learning to use Bloglines..I'm always on the lookout for something that really works well.
We use bloglines. That is a feed reader. We haven't ever had a cat who didn't have one. Bloglines will find the feed for you and you get to pick which one you want. You sign up. Then you put an icon tool in your browser dashboard (really it's easy, you just drop it on there). Then you go and visit friends. Click on the icon and it will add that person to your feeds.
You'll have more cat blogs to read than you want!
STORK!! Where's the stork?!?
We use bloglines. The Investor says she doesn't remember quite how she set it up, but thought that it was easy once she clicked on a bunch of things to figure it out. It's just getting over that tough part of a billion buttons.
Uhm. She says this could help:
After you sign up, click on My Feeds, click on Add, and then put in the URL of the site you want to add, and then that should work! And you have to do it over and over until you have all your friends' blogs added. :)
Does that help?
It sounds like chey has a better way, but we don't know that way.
We use google reader for blog reading and firefox as our browser. Both make keeping up with everyone easier.
Ummmm, we would just ask Auntie. We don't have a preference, as we don't use either, but maybe that will change.

Tell that stork to get on the stick.
We don't knwo either - mommakitty still does it all by hand, one by one.
Dude, we're clueless about that stuff. Mommy manually lists our friends in the side nav and has never used the RSS or the blogroll thingie. Let us know what you find out (so maybe we can get mommy to help us do it, too)! Glad your momma is finding things to keep her mind off the you know who, who decided to not make an early arrival afterall.
Purrs,
Mr. Chen & Ollie
Those sort of things take me ages to work out and when I do it's usually a fluke.
We've been coding ours manually. There are so many things we want to add and then you have to sign up and then it takes an hour or two hours or a squillion hours and then there's no time left to do anything. Heavy sigh. There's just too.much.stuff. and not enuf time. But, it does sound like it may be somefin we haf to look into. We'll try out bloglines when we get a minute and let you know.
We use blogrolling. You need to add it to your blog by using Blogger's "HTML/Javascript" thingie. We have thought about changing to a feed reeder though, like Bloglines or Google Reader, since we seem to miss a lot of updates by our friends!
We came over today to see the suggestions everyfur has made. We hope you can get one of them to work.
We use Blogrolling, and it took Mom a very long time to figure it out.
Has the Stork made a visit??
Monty, we shoulda piped in earlier. If you want the links on yur blog to show when they's updated, Blogrolling is good. It has code somewhere that you add to a widget in yur blog, like Dragonheart & Merlin said.
If you want to haf a list of all the blogs you wanna read that shows when they is updated and sumtimes efun the latest posts, but not acyouly ON yur blog, dat's an RSS feed reader. We've tried Bloglines an Google Reader, an cuz we sumtimes use a PawPC, we like Google Reader! I hope we hasn't added to the confusion!
