The Newman

(Older pic in different home!)

Let me introduce you to Newman, the Cat Who Came Before Monty Q. aka, who you smelled when you first moved in, Monty.

Hmmph.

Yeah yeah, not talking to me. I adopted Newman when HeBean and I lived in Vermont.

Figures, he's built like a cow...

ENOUGH. Do you want to hear this or not?

Phhht.

Mancats. Go stare at Millie's tum while I go on.

WOO! ::faints::

Anyway, when we first adopted Newman it was just HeBean and I, KidBean arrived about a year later. Newman didn't seem to care about KidBean at first-the cat was pretty laid back to be honest. When we had went to the shelter he was out cold while the other cats raised a ruckus. He was a keeper!

We moved here right when KidBean started toddling about, and he REALLY liked Newman. Not rough, just average toddler love. Newman started going put to prowl around this time too-he got out once and came home when called, so it seemed the best. But one day he didn't come home.

I found out a few weeks later that he had literally adopted another family up the road. he's still an outside cat but picked another house to haunt. They liked him so he became their cat, although he still walks everywhere in the neighborhood. (Everyone knows Newman!)

While he usually hasn't strolled down to our house before, he apparently wanted to wish me a Happy Birthday last week, he's always welcome here, door will always be offered open to Newman.

What did I miss?

Millie!tummy!

Well, well, well...Monty, your Mom Bean DOES have a past...
I have to admit, Newman is a good looking dude, but if he's one of those outdoorsy types I hope he looks both ways before crossing!
Maybe you two can be buds??? You know, share MomBean stories and stuff?
Tell him "Hey" for me!

Oh my gosh! What an interesting story. How amazing that Newman came back for a visit after all this time! Maybe this will give hope to other cats when they go missing. Like Emil, maybe he is just living somewhere else temporarily, too.

Great story! Cats do have a mind of their own. You might want to explain to Monty, if Newman hadn't moved up the street, Monty wouldn't be living with you beans and he wouldn't have met Millie.

purrs and tail wags

Monty, I'm just tellin', don't even bother gettin' back up, fella, cuz you're gonna hurt yourself!

Millie hits low, doesn't she?

I'm so glad Newman is still being taken care of by is "adopted" family. It is like he knew it was your birthday! I'm sure Monty is glad he is still with his other family too. Of course if you show him Millie's picture enough, he wouldn't even know Newman was there!

Thank you for explaining that. That is very interesting. We take it he is still "their" cat?

My mum adopted her last cat Puss like that, she just decided to move in.

I am glad Newman has found a good family to look after him. See Monty if it gets tough, you can just move out!!

Newman's a fine looking cat. It was very thoughtful of him to come and wish your mum a happy birthday.

That's happened to our Uncle Allen before, 'cept Uncle Allen was the neighbor adopted by woofies and our cousin Cosmo Kitty!

We're glad Newman stopped by to say hello!

That is one very cool story. He looks like a grand lad and it's great he still comes to say Hi!
